Can someone please explain to me how a 4-6 month prison sentence is reasonable for 16-17 year old teenagers throwing stones? Half a year is a necessary punishment?
Before you can defend stone throwers, I think you should let yourself be hit on the head by a brick. At that point, and at that point only, I will take this kind of statements into consideration as coming from someone who’s had direct experience of the matter.
Being a minor does not imply being granted impunity in front of the law, especially when responsible of violent actions that could easily result in severe injuries to others.
How good would it be for these kids to grow up in an environment that not only incites to violence, but also passes on the message that there are no consequences to criminal behavior?
